Fake Breaking News Prank Ideas: 25 Lines for the Anchor to Say
In a PrankAI breaking news video, your friend's photo is in the box over the anchor's shoulder, the red banner says their name is wanted for questioning, and the anchor reads one line out loud. The line is the part you write, and it decides whether the video gets a laugh. Here are 25 that work, with the reasons they work.
How the anchor's line works
The video is 5 seconds long. The anchor has time for one or two short sentences, so the field takes 90 characters at most. That is about 15 spoken words. The line starts as "Breaking news. Police are searching for [name] tonight." You can keep it or write your own.
The banner is not part of the line. It always reads "[NAME] WANTED FOR QUESTIONING". Type only the name in the name field. If you type a full headline there, the banner says it twice.
What makes a line funny
Read a small, petty crime in a serious news voice. The joke is the distance between how grave the anchor sounds and how small the offense is. A line with a joke in it sounds less like the news and gets less of a laugh.
- •Say the name early. The person who gets the video hears their name in the first second.
- •Use one real detail. The hoodie they never gave back works better than a made-up crime.
- •End on the detail. The last words are what people repeat.
- •Use news words: "authorities say", "last seen", "do not approach", "in connection with".
